SEESA, the South East Electricity Substation Alliance, is a collaborative alliance, comprising National Grid, AREVA, Skanska and Mott MacDonald, to replace and upgrade electricity substations in the south east of England.

To provide a seamless communications infrastructure for the life of the Alliance, SEESA executives decided that a managed Hosted Exchange service would provide the ideal combination of performance at a predetermined cost. Following a market review and presentations, adept4’s Hosted Exchange & Archiving service was chosen for its combination of flexibility and technical excellence.

The contract provides Hosted Exchange and Archiving, together with Managed Storage, Managed Server, Managed SharePoint Service and Managed Virtual Server. In addition, adept4 consultants have recently been involved in significant development work within Pell & Bales, and the success of this project has laid the foundation for the new contract.

Two more consultants have passed the stringent ITIL qualification, which means that all the Consultant team are now fully ITIL Qualified. DAV Management specialises in the management of complex IT-enabled business change projects and programmes for both public and private sector clients. DAV's team has been at the heart of some of the largest programmes of this kind in the UK.

As experts in the implementation of successful I.T. projects and programmes, DAV management has recognised the many benefits to be gained by using a managed service approach to their own internal I.T. systems. adept4 is delighted to have been chosen to deliver a number of crucial I.T services. Throughout 2007 adept4 has been engaged on a series of complex assignments in the defence & security industries. The work undertaken has included managed service operations, a service adoption & delivery programme and a transition management project, all at secure installations. The authority running the programme is the Defence Vetting Agency, which is part of the M.O.D., and their website describes the authorisation as - Security Check (SC) is for people who will have substantial access to SECRET assets or occasional access to TOP SECRET assets and information.

Thus adept4 consultants are cleared to undertake assignments in sensitive, Government or MOD installations almost immediately without having to undertake the lengthy vetting process. For some months members of adept4's senior consultancy team have been undertaking a service transition project for a major contractor within the defence sector. The project was conducted using ITIL methodologies and covered the client's entire I.T estate; a complex third generation infrastructure of 3800 end users across 11 sites.

The results have been so impressive that adept4 has now been retained to undertake a complete operational review across of all the clients I.T. operations. This new contract is worth in excess of £100k and will involve senior adept4 personnel operating at all levels within the client's structure and includes a temporary board-level assignment.

As part of an internal drive to reduce the company's carbon footprint and commitment to ISO14001, adept4 have moved their head office to "greenest office building in the UK." Using the BREEM environmental assessment, the new building has been rated at 87.55%, the highest awarded to any building in the UK.

The building has passive cooling, rooftop landscaping, vacuum drainage and combined heat and power units. Additionally it has a rainwater recycling facility used for the advanced heating and cooling system.

The new office is part of adept4's continued expansion resulting from the substantial sales growth the company has enjoyed this year. To support a number of key contract wins, adept4 has recently opened satellite offices in Warrington and Bracknell which augment the existing Northampton Network Operations Centre. Wadaro is a provider of wired and wireless Quality of Service monitoring systems with a focus on cellular telephony. Suffice to say that it is a contract for service provision and the initial order is worth in excess of £100k.
